Global Positioning Systems (GPS) can provide accurate location data for all kinds of terrestrial and avian wildlife research and management projects. GPS tracking technology has been adopted in the management of movable assets. Tracking systems are normally powered by an individual battery: a rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery. The battery type chosen for the product is dependent on the device’s application environment.

Long Cycles Life

Generally, GPS device’s working current is within 0.5C, in this case, the GPS battery life could be 1000 cycles. After 1000 cycles, the capacity maintained over 80%. They can support micro GPS tracking devices working for several months, even one or more years, providing strong power base for the integrated tracking system.

High C-Rate

Due to the high-rate GPS battery use the electrode material which is favorable for high-rate discharge, the internal resistance design of the electrode is smaller than that of the ordinary battery, so the rate battery have high discharge platform, high discharge efficiency, and high output power and energy.

Fast charging GPS battery, 3C full only takes 25min, ordinary lithium battery 1C charging takes more than 80min, as fast charge curve, the charging time can save more than 60%.

GPS Batteries in Low Temperature

Grepow’s GPS batteries can be made to operate in environments with low temperature of -50℃ to 50℃. Under low temperature, the batteries can achieve a lower internal resistance and, thus, a high discharge rate. Compared with traditional Lithium Polymer batteries, Grepow’s batteries have broken through the discharge temperature limits of -20℃ to 60℃.
They are able to discharge over 60% efficiency at 0.2C at -40℃ and discharge over 80% efficiency at 0.2C at -30℃. When charged at 20℃ to 30℃ by 0.2C, the capacity can maintain above 85% after 300 cycles. The batteries can be ready for mass production, and they have been widely used in cold climates and military products.
